

Dolomites Adventure Activity Holiday8 Days Hiking Trails, Via Ferrata and Mountain Biking This trip is based in the beautiful South Tyrolean valley of Val Gardena and activity choices can be designed around the requirements of the group. Set amidst the towering spires of the Dolomite peaks, the Val Gardena valley includes three national parks and offers a mix of Italian and German cultures with its own unique natural beauty, history and traditions. For walkers this part of the Dolomites has numerous well maintained trails with an extensive network of lifts providing summer access to many of our longer and more strenuous routes. However, the walking part of the programme can be adapted in accordance with individual requirements of the group and will be discussed with you on your first day holiday briefing. For the mountain biking enthusiast the trails around Val Gardena offer routes suitable for all abilities offering breathtaking views of the Dolomite mountains; from wide tracks, meadows and forest trails, to challenging, rocky steep descents. Whether you are new to off-road biking or an experienced rider looking to improve your technical skills, our instructors will help you achieve a higher standard and improve your confidence. We also offer courses for beginner to intermediate level once you have completed your basic skills assessment which will determine your ability prior to your first session. For the walker with a good head for heights we also include a selection of challenging Via Ferrata routes suitable for both beginners and the experienced Via Ferratist. For those unfamiliar with the sport, a Via Ferrata is a scramble or easy climb equipped with cables for safety and additional ladders or bridges according to the terrain: It is an exciting amd popular sport affording safe passage amidst spectacular and often very exposed scenery. This holiday is structured in accordance with the specific requirements of the group and can be customised based on age and experience to suit a wide range of ability and fitness levels. Activity options also include rock climbing, horse riding, rafting, canyoning, canoeing and parapenting (parachute gliding from mountain tops).
Val Gardena is a beautiful South Tyrolean valley surrounded by national parks and overlooked by the impressive Sassolungo and Sella Group of mountains. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers dramatic Dolomite peaks, traditional picturesque villages and alpine landscape with the benefits of a modern high class resort. Santa Cristina lies at an altitude of approx. 1400m, located in the middle of the valley and offers a diverse mix of traditional and new buildings, all retaining the traditional style of architecture and Austrian alpine charm. It is ideally connected to a number of lifts operating in summer to take you to the higher levels of Monte Pana, Ciampinoi and Seceda. Selva Val Gardena, otherwise known as Wolkenstein, is the highest town in the valley at an altitude of 1563m and is one of the most renowned resorts in the Dolomites. The town is situated at the top end of this beautiful valley and lies beneath the mountains of the Cir, the Sella and the Sassolungo. It is within easy walking distance to the Vallongia national reserve and the main ski lift Ciampinoi that operates in summer.
